The Best Way To Describe Your CUSEC Experience
Posted by John KopanasThe best sales people for CUSEC are the people who have previously attended the conference and are looking back to coming back.
Here is what Karen Widish that head delegate for Carleton University has to say about CUSEC:
My name is Karen Widish and I am in 4th year Software Engineering at Carleton University. This will be my third year attending CUSEC, and last year Carleton hosted CUSEC. Thanks again to everyone who came out to the first time CUSEC was held outside of Montreal. It was a stressful month, so I am glad to hear mostly good things about the event.
I am currently on my last co-op work-term before starting 4th year. I am working as an RA for the school of architecture here at Carleton. I feel CUSEC is an awesome event, and a must for any software engineering student. To us here at Carleton it is the main event our
society plans for, as we see it as a way to meet students at our own school as well as schools across Canada. Best line to get the first years involved, “you will learn more at CUSEC in 3 days than your entire 1st year”.It will be great to be apart of CUSEC’s 5th anniversary,
I look forward to seeing you there Karen!

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one to come up with “You will learn more in 3 days than your entire first year”.

I compare the feeling of discovering CUSEC to the way Columbus must have felt when he discovered America. To me, it signified a new world. CUSEC is a world where you can find people like you who want to know about Software Engineering and who are more than glad to talk to you about it.
It feels like a tribe, like a community, bounded by this extremely interesting field.
I have attended other conferences before like the ‘Professional Engineers of Ontario Student Conference’, but only in CUSEC I have felt part of a community, of the Software Engineering community.
So definitely, as a SoftEng student, your attendance is a must. You will not regret it…
And if all of this was not enough, there is also CUSEC party time at night, right John?

Party? What party? I don’t remember any party
.
I agree with Orlando 100%, I have meet many different people from many walks of life and I have to say one of the nicest and most accepting people I have meet are my software engineering friends!
