December 2005

Extending the mission of advancing understanding and education of Software Engineering, CUSEC founder John Kopanas has recently updated SOEN.info, your index of “The Freshest Software Engineering Information On The Net”. I say your because it for you and by you. So head on over and learn something new, then contribute a link to an article, book, review, paper, podcast… that you think needs to be indexed for others who will find it interesting and can advance their knowledge of Software Engineering.

Registration for CUSEC is picking up fast! For all those who haven’t registered yet, what are you waiting for? Since we’re all out of the holiday break now is a great time to take a few minutes to register. Registration will only take a minute or two and then you can pat yourself on the back for not procrastinating any longer and taking advantage of the Early Registration price (it finishes Jan 1st).

I have received a few questions about registration and have answered the more popular ones on the website. Take a look at the Registration F.A.Q.

Thanks to the head delegate of McGill, Jonathan Li On Wing, for getting us a good deal at the Quality Hotel Downtown Montreal. All of the delegations including the organizing team is going to be staying there.

The hotel is 5-6 blocks from the Omni Hotel, where we are going to be hosting the conference, but it is $30 cheaper a night then the Omni. The price per night is $99, if you share it with 4 people per night then it is a pretty fair price. Very good at least for Downtown Montreal’s standards. (Keynote presenters though will be staying at the Omni. We can’t be cheap with them.)

Are you registered for CUSEC yet? If so, please take a moment to pin your location on our CUSEC Frappr! Map. While you are there, take a look at who else is attending CUSEC and where they are coming from. We hope every attendee will add themselves to the map so everyone will be able to find and contact their CUSEC friends.
