There is an article published earlier today at [news.com](http://www.news.com) that interviews one of CUSEC’s keynote presenter’s, David Heinemeier Hansson, and covers the open source project [Ruby On Rails](http://www.rubyonrails.com) that he will be presenting at our upcoming conference.

Give the article a read:

A new version of the Call for Papers and Call for Presentations is now available. Please verify the deadlines as some dates have changed.

If you have any questions about presentations or the deadlines, please feel free to contact the Presentations team: Ahmed Kamel or Ashraf Gaffar.

David Heinemeier Hansson has just sent us the title and abstract of his upcoming keynote address at CUSEC 2006. I thought you guys and gals would be interested so here it is.

Title: “Ruby on Rails: The Whirlwind Tour”

Abstract:
Get 1st class tickets to tour with Ruby on Rails. A glimpse behind the headlines, a look at the fundamental shift that this Yet Another Framework is bringing to the world of web-application development. See the beautiful of domain-specific languages in full effect and learn about the holy cows we had to slaughter to enjoy the view.

I don’t know about you… but I am really looking forward to getting the opportunity to learn directly from Google and O’Reilly’s Hacker of the Year award recipient.

If a picture is worth a million words then how many words is 756 pictures worth? Yeah yeah, I know, 756 million, it is just a figure of speech.

We have 756 pictures in total online from [CUSEC 2004](http://www.flickr.com/photos/kopanas/sets/1041664/) (Montreal) and [CUSEC 2005](http://www.flickr.com/photos/kopanas/sets/988102/) (Ottawa). If you have never been to CUSEC check out the pictures to get a feel for the atmosphere of CUSEC and for those who attended either of those CUSEC’s check out the images to reminisce about the good times we had.

I think I might just have pictures from earlier CUSEC’s as well. Who wants to see them as well?

I spent the whole of two minutes determining how I would select a winner for the free ticket. (more…)
